After Work Activities
I have been a student for the past 12+4+3 years. And even though I took one year off between college and law school, I was still living a "student-esque" life. So, what do work people do after work? I know you eat dinner, but whatelse. I want to hear.
Today, in midst of wanting to be politically active again (since I am in DC), I went to a MoveOn event: a vigil for Cindy Sheehan in support of her stance. She is a strong woman fighting for a cause that most people dare not talk about in certain parts of the country. And there she is, making sure her voice is not silent. I love it!
The cool thing about it was that I got to see SUCH a diverse crowd in Dupont Circle. There were older people there. Actually, now that I reflect back, there were mostly older people (when I say older people, I mean people over the age of 55 years). I was amazed! I hope I keep my political activism up when I am older. I also saw families. I saw young professionals, students, and hippies. I kept thinking, "This is why I enjoy DC." If only I had my digi camera and laptop, I could have clued all ten of you loyal readers in w-h-i-l-e it was happening, since I know you await my blog updates of my blog-filled life.

After work...I go to dinner, or on a good day--an afternoon movie. On Thursdays I go country western dancing, and Fridays I try to go to the Wine House for a tasting. Sometimes I just hang with my dog. I try to meet up with friends at Urth Cafe or go to a book signing at the Bodhi Tree bookstore. Lately I have been exploring downtown--there is the BEST library there. And, I try to learn more computer programs and create more pitches for articles. Still not enough time in the day. Miss you! I am so glad you are enjoying your new job.

When I used to work (and hopefully, when I start my new job), I used to go to bookstores after work. I just like kind of wandering around for an hour. :)
I'm bummed I missed the vigil.
